Security advice
Meeting new people can be exciting, however, it is important to exercise caution when interacting with someone you don't know. It is essential to use good judgment and prioritize safety, whether it is exchanging initial messages or meeting in person. Although you cannot control the actions of others, there are steps you can take to ensure safety during your Dazl experience.
1. Online Safety
Never send money or share financial information.
Never send money via bank transfer, even if someone claims to be in an emergency situation. It is also important not to share information that could be used to access your financial accounts and to notify immediately if someone asks you for money so that security measures can be taken.
Protect your personal information
It is important that you do not share personal information, such as your ID number, home address, work address, or details about your daily routine with strangers. If you are a parent, it is advisable to limit the information you share about your children, avoid giving details such as their names, the school they attend, as well as their age and gender.
Stay on the Platform.
While you meet someone, keep the conversations going on the Dazl platform. Users with bad intentions often try to immediately move the conversation to text messages, messaging apps, email, or phone.
Report all suspicious and offensive behavior
You know when someone crossed the line, and when this happens, at Dazl we want to know. Block and report anyone who violates our terms. Here are some examples:
• Requests for money or donations.
• Underage users.
• Harassment, threats and offensive messages.
• Inappropriate or disruptive behavior during or after meeting in person.
• Fraudulent profiles.
• Spam or solicitations, such as links to commercial websites or attempts to sell products or services
You can report any concerns about suspicious behavior from any profile page or message window here. For more information, see our Community Rules.
2. Tips when meeting in person
Don't rush things
Ask questions to look for red flags.
Meet in public and stay in public
Use the app in public places for the first few times. Don't go to private places. If the other person insists, end the date.
Tell your friends and family about your plans
Tell a friend or family member about your plans and keep your phone charged and with you at all times.
Have your means of transportation.
Make sure you have transportation to and from the appointment. If you drive, have an emergency plan or an app like Uber.
Know your limits.
Know your limits with drugs and alcohol. Don't let the other person pressure you, stay firm and end the date.
Do not leave drinks or personal items unattended.
Be aware of where your drink comes from and its location at all times: only accept drinks that have been poured or served directly by the bartender or waiter. Many of the substances introduced into drinks to facilitate sexual assault are odorless, colorless and tasteless. Likewise, keep your phone, purse, wallet, and anything containing personal information with you at all times.
If you do not feel comfortable, leave the place
If when you meet the person of interest in person, you do not feel confident or feel uncomfortable, end the appointment early. Ask the waiter for help if he feels unsafe.
